Ideas as a closet spy

Hello

Yes, I know apologies aren't good enough for not making the time to write a few posts. Really it shouldn't be hard to squeeze in a post each day but apparently I lack the knack of doing so.

I on the other hand have recently started working on a new venture which is very much tied to this blog's theme. It just struck me one day when I was far away thinking about more dramatic things in my life. As they say inspiration strikes when you are least looking for it.

I always wanted to do something of my own, brimming with ideas which would get categorically turned down by my daddy dearest. After years of full blown arguments  of how he wouldn't let me even try wetting my feet like he did when he began his career, begging for capital and swearing to never again seek his help, I finally found a way to begin sans daddy's bank balance but of course with blessings. Oh the blessings do come with strings attached, the raised eyebrows, nods of disbelief, amusement in his voice etceteras.

Well I have been hard pressed at work and like I mentioned it's related to what I write here, I face a challenge not to rush over here to write a post as that distracts me from my plan. But I want to assure you that as soon as I am set to launch my new venture, I will definitely be back to featuring my favorite indulgences and also bring it to life. Yes, I said, bring it to life.

So my dear readers, Patience & wish me good luck. Will let you folks into the plan soon.

Lust Episode 6: Isa

How sexy is this outfit? I would need to shed some serious weight to wear something like this. I love the back of the dress. Absolutely divine! I tend to like backs.

Ok enough of gushing over it, haven't even mentioned who the designer is or what's the dress called. It from RM BY ROLAND MOURET called the Isa dress and will cost a whopping £1,898.10. I spotted it on Net-a-porter!

Towering Toes: Stomping Wellies

I absolutely  W - A - N - T  a pair of wellington boots like ASAP. I've been planning to get one for the past 2 years. I've gone as far as the cart checkout option and not just bought it. I still don't get it why I don't have them. So if you want to earn some easy brownie points with me, getting me a pair of these before July 2010 will be it!

I do like the ones from Hunter Boots, the various colours make me want to have one of each colour. Also love a lot of the quirkier ones, from Chooka and the likes. Go get one now & for me too. Remember always buy a size larger for boots. You will wear socks won't u? Also your jeans or trousers need to go into them!

(images are taken from a site that I forgot to bookmark, oops!)

Time Out Extension

Hello

and apologies,

I have been quite busy and haven't had the internets except on my phone. I feel like I live in a war camp due to the renovations going on at my house. The worst thing is to live & redo your living space simultaneously. I'm certain I have plaster & cement on my hair as accessories, not sure if that will ever figure on anybody's lust list! :-)

I will try my best to squeeze in a post every time I find the chance to come online. Do come back. I promise we'll have loads to drool over!

Digital Love: Wii me happy & healthy

I love video games. Right from the moment I held those tiny portable video games to online gaming. I love them all. I grew up on a healthy dose of Mario, Contra, Prince of persia, Sonic the hedgehog, Tetris, Pac man, Donkey Kong, Road Rash, Age of Empire and so much more. But strangely I forgot them sometime between high school & now apart from the occasional trips to the arcade.

I definitely want to relive those memories and given the advanced gaming stations available it's a shame that I still haven't. My pick is the Wii by Nintendo over the Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox 360 only coz I love the accessory for Wii called Wii Fit Plus. Its a balance board which let's you workout with the Wii. I quite like the idea that maybe this would make exercising fun!

The bundle shown above is sold out here but is available separately, WiiWii Fit Plus with Balance Board and Official Nintendo Wii Wheel. Is santa listening for an early present?

Timed Out

Hello there,

I'm back from wherever I had gone to. Couldn't quite write posts as promised but now I'll make up for this by doing 2 posts a day! If you don't get what I'm talking about go here.

Digital Love: Apple of my eye

How can I not lust after one of the most sought after & talked about technology companies & their awesomely amazing products. Ok I think I'll run out of adjectives! Of course it's Apple I'm talking about here. I'm typing this on a 2.5 years old Macbook which has a chip next to the mousepad and well a bit old! Having seen the new Macbook Pro in person I just couldn't help thinking its time to get me another one of these babies home.

I wasn't sure if I should pick the iPad or the Macbook Pro. After some contemplation, I figured I had no use for an iPad now, other than to receive some neighbours envy. I have an iPhone 3G which is sufficient for my on-the-move needs. A Macbook Pro I decided is my temple considering I just found out my Macbook's battery is going bust!

Made from one solid piece of aluminum, it comes with high performance NVIDIA graphics along with a vivid LED-backlit display. I would love to have a Macbook Pro 13-inch with 2.53GHz Intel core 2 duo 4GB Memory (will upgrade to 8GB later), 500GB Serial ATA drive (it's $150 extra for this!) and add the apple remote for $19 extra bringing me to a total of $1,668 short of this lust must item! Sigh! Any godmother/father listening?? Go here.

Pay £315.41 here.

Sweet Temptations: Inca Mermaid

Every girl must have a great piece of swimsuit in her closet. Gone are those days of wearing boring Speedo's. To don a bikini one should ideally have a bikini bod like the swimsuit model above, this Inca print cut-out swimsuit by SeaFolly shouldn't really look too bad on a more average Indian body type. I like how this combines style & function very well. Definitely on the top of my lust list!

It costs $145.30. Anyone handing these out? Sigh! Droooooooool.....

A little time out

Hello my lovely readers,

Thank you so much for giving me the motivation to write a post each day. I appreciate all your comments, feedback, love etc. I'm going to be extremely busy over the next few weeks & won't really have time to write each day. I'm trying my best to write up posts in advance but I'm not sure if I can do that to cover each day. So don't miss me much & don't stop visiting this site. Follow me on twitter and I'm sure you'll get any updates when I write a new post.

I would love to have a reader's choice post as well. So do let me know if you have something on your lust list that I can share with everyone else.

Till then have fun!

Selfish Skin: Estee Esteem

I have established previously I'm lazy but I do love to be pampered. I can never have enough of getting a good spa treatment. I don't like to subject my face to a lot of treatment but this Idealist product from Estee Lauder is definitely something I would use. It's a dual-action refinishing treatment that's an in-house alternative to micro‑dermabrasion or glycolic acid peel treatments. To be used once a week for smooth & polished skin. It costs $49.50 and found here.

Sweet Temptations: Funk Stash

Pretty aren't they? This post is dedicated to my best friend's old box of funk stash. We must've been in 7th grade when I first saw her collection of earrings, chains & what nots. Now, I love buying quirky pieces of accessories. I may or may not wear them but I love having them. Depending on my mood I experiment with them, I sometimes wear a earring as a brooch, a necklace as a headpiece etc.

I picked some of the cutest accessories that I would absolutely want to buy. Look & Lust!

Carry my world: Bling me out!

Today I'm going for one of my oldest friend's wedding reception, what is an Indian wedding without the fanfare and of course ostentatious BLING BLING! I thought it would only be appropriate to feature an equally ostentatious clutch, the Judith Leiber snow owl minaudière, called Snowy. While this isn't the most blingy thing ever, for someone like me who isn't into a lot of bling this really pushes my limits.

Amongst all the minaudière's, Snowy is my favourite. The lovely Onyx eyes offset by crystals makes it appealing enough for me to risk carrying this one around with out being added to Bappi Lahiri's competition!

Description from site: Snow owl minaudière is hand beaded in Austrian crystal and features semi precious onyx eyes, top snap closure and 19" chain. Comes beautifully boxed with protective signature bag. Measures 4.5" wide, 5.5" tall, 3" deep. Color: Rhine Multi

It costs $3800. I know!!! Find snowy & friends here.

Carry my world: Queen's Skull

I wasn't going to post today, thought I'd give it a rest during the weekend but I couldn't help myself. I remembered there was a clutch that I was absolutely drooling over long time ago. Its been around for awhile, spotted on many celebrities around the world.

While not into skulls & goth myself, this Gold Skull Clutch from Alexander McQueen's collection is something I would love to carry!

I like the dirty gold finish, allows it to look not-blingy yet the skull is! Although the eyes of the skull look scary in the picture, I hear it isn't as bad in real life. It comes in many other colours including Black & Red.

Description on the website: classic alexander mcqueen skull clutch in antique gold leather with black nappa leather lining. the skull has blue river pearl eyes and white swarovski teeth and studs. length: 16.5 cm, width: 11.5 cm, depth: 5.5 cm

Its $1195, buy here.

Digital Love: Wear it on your sleeve

Something I have personally used, unique printed vinyl skins for your devices. I had previously donned my old iPhone with a customised print. It covered the back of my phone screaming individuality, style and class. Gelaskins has some great prints from a variety of talented artists to choose from and also the option to customise your designs. It's not just for iPhone's or iPod's, they cover a range of devices including laptops. Click on the image above to find more.

I've been meaning to get another one for my iPhone. I hate it when I go some place and there are plenty of same looking iPhones around. Never been the one to blend in!

Not only does this add style to the über cool iPhone, it also provides protection from scratches. After a while cases just don't seem right. This is the best option for some protection with style! They have a buy 3 skins get 1 skin free offer.

P.S: I want the Miss Chatterbox skin! ;-)

Shine Shielders: Make way

Since summer's upon us here in Chennai, India; I had to do a post on sunnies, while I had a few others on my lust list I had to go with Ray Ban's Wayfarers II RB2143. Reason being, I had a dream a few weeks ago, where I was at a beach party having a great time wearing PINK wayfarers. Now I'm not in love with or averse to PINK but I certainly am in love with the wayfarers. They come in a variety of colours and prints, but this one appealed to me the most. Of course the coloured ones are favourites too! If I could I'd buy them up all.. ;-)

The classic Ray Ban must have, after the aviators of course!

Mind Material

If you have been very close to me emotionally, I'm sure you know how I feel about the book "EAT, PRAY, LOVE" by Elizabeth Gilbert and the eerie similarities of my life with the author's. If you haven't, then I must seriously recommend that you pick up that book first. It's absolutely a delight to read & really makes you wonder about how you live your life. I have never praised a book so much as this one, probably coz this one is very close to home. My copy is currently loaned to a friend, she has quoted this book herself & told me how much it has made a difference to her. So its a must read!

From this brilliant lady comes her next, titled "Commited: A sceptic makes peace with marriage".

Excerpt from her website: "At the end of her bestselling memoir Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert fell in love with Felipe, a Brazilian-born man of Australian citizenship who'd been living in Indonesia when they met. Resettling in America, the couple swore eternal fidelity to each other, but also swore to never, ever, under any circumstances get legally married. (Both were survivors of previous divorces. Enough said.) But providence intervened one day in the form of the United States government, which—after unexpectedly detaining Felipe at an American border crossing—gave the couple a choice: they could either get married, or Felipe would never be allowed to enter the country again. Having been effectively sentenced to wed, Gilbert tackled her fears of marriage by delving into this topic completely, trying with all her might to discover through historical research, interviews, and much personal reflection what this stubbornly enduring old institution actually is. Told with Gilbert's trademark wit, intelligence and compassion, Committed attempts to "turn on all the lights" when it comes to matrimony, frankly examining questions of compatibility, infatuation, fidelity, family tradition, social expectations, divorce risks and humbling responsibilities. Gilbert's memoir is ultimately a clear-eyed celebration of love with all the complexity and consequence that real love, in the real world, actually entails."

I'm waiting to go pick this up (hint: gift it to me!). Its Rs.395/- at Landmark online, MRP Rs.499.

Towering Toes: Fabulous Fendi

This is truly drool worthy!! Fendi's Python effect leather sandals truly makes me go GA-GA...I love the coral pink, nude leather juxtaposed with the Python leather...Coral pink is a lovely, soothing colour that I'm biased towards..The python leather only adds oomph to it..This one is very very very high on my envy meter!

Towering Toes

I've always been fascinated by the Mayan civilization, their love for geometry & colours makes me wish I was one of them. When I saw this pair of Christian Louboutin's called Ulona 140, I knew I just had to include it in my Lust List ❤

While this is a busy shoe, I love the shock value it can add to a look. Absolutely stunning!

Carry my world!

The classic quilted flap bag from Chanel is one that every girl above 16 must absolutely have in their collection! This blue version is from the latest Spring - Summer 2010 Pre collection. I have a replica in Black & have been waiting to get the real thing!

Believe me, the black Chanel will look gorgeous with almost any outfit. My replica sure does, but of course who want's Brad Pitt's Wax statue over the real thing??

This one is high on my envy meter!

Prime Time Sublime: Dior Drool

La Baby D De Dior is one of my most favourite picks from the La De D Dior Collection. This collection is described by Dior as "A woman who decides to wear a man's watch so that she is always thinking of him…". How romantic! It has the right balance of style, function & oomph! I love the single row of diamonds on the bezel & my personal choice is the mother of pearl dial. Specification from the Dior site : 23mm, quartz movement, steel case and bracelet, bezel set with diamonds, white mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds. It's 2200 Euros on the official site but I'm sure you can find it for less elsewhere! Check this baby out  here.

Digital Love

Everything is so simple when it comes to taking pictures these days...Smile, Click, Upload, Comment, Like...But what I like even better is the retro Diana F+ Camera..I fell in love with Lomography the moment I came across a fish eye camera. What's Lomography? Go here to find out more..Add the Diana Instant Back+ and we've got the quirkiest of our memories to look at..Throw in the Fuji Instax Film and there's a holiday bundle from Lomography.com called Young, Free & Creative for $204.40.

This is something that I definitely want to lay my hands on!

P.S: I realise the title 'Digital Love' is not applicable in the literal sense!

Lust Episode 3: Twice as Nice

Temperley London's Mini Agnelli Studded dress in turquoise is a sure head-turner piece. Just this dress teamed with a pair of stunning heels & your best strut would make one look like a star! Want to look like you are walking the red carpet, 'clutch' an exotic purse to go with. This stunner of a dress can be found here.

The red cotton-faille pencil dress by Lela Rose is my perfect pick for a dinner party. Add some dazzling earrings or a bracelet/cuff, you can look like the perfect Lady-in-Red and find someone equally dashing to dance away with! You can get this from here.

Both images taken from Net-a-porter.

Sweet Temptations

If like me you are a lazy person or just don't have the time / luxury to go in for that most-important manicure, yet want those fab-looking digits to flick around & beckon with, then you must have these!

Although I don't really know how this product works, the quality, and the lasting duration of the effect. However, if it comes close to being the way it's described, I'd love to have these around. There have been many a times in my life that I've had an important meeting/date set up at the last minute while I've been bumming around in my frumpiest best!

The mad dash to look presentable & realising on my way out the door that I forgot to make my nails look nice or even presentable! Yikes...Now we don't want that do we!

Go grab these...Available at the Incoco online store.

Lust Episode 2: Hail Queen

A dress by the recently departed but talented Alexander McQueen. R.I.P!

I would love to step into a room wearing this & watch the eyes roll...I would gasp if I was in the audience...The colour of this dress is to die for (Pun unintended!)...I love the simplicity of the design & yet the ferociousness of its colour...Making it a FABOOSH lust item on my list!

The dress can be found here. Image is once again taken from Net-a-porter. It costs £811.06 and only available in Large & X - Large at the moment of my writing.

Every time a talented artist moves onto another abode, their work becomes very sought after, hence the "sold out" on the other sizes. If you can lay your hands on one, I suggest you pick it up NOW!
