Carry my world: Bling me out!

Today I'm going for one of my oldest friend's wedding reception, what is an Indian wedding without the fanfare and of course ostentatious BLING BLING! I thought it would only be appropriate to feature an equally ostentatious clutch, the Judith Leiber snow owl minaudière, called Snowy. While this isn't the most blingy thing ever, for someone like me who isn't into a lot of bling this really pushes my limits.

Amongst all the minaudière's, Snowy is my favourite. The lovely Onyx eyes offset by crystals makes it appealing enough for me to risk carrying this one around with out being added to Bappi Lahiri's competition!

Description from site: Snow owl minaudière is hand beaded in Austrian crystal and features semi precious onyx eyes, top snap closure and 19" chain. Comes beautifully boxed with protective signature bag. Measures 4.5" wide, 5.5" tall, 3" deep. Color: Rhine Multi

It costs $3800. I know!!! Find snowy & friends here.

Carry my world: Queen's Skull

I wasn't going to post today, thought I'd give it a rest during the weekend but I couldn't help myself. I remembered there was a clutch that I was absolutely drooling over long time ago. Its been around for awhile, spotted on many celebrities around the world.

While not into skulls & goth myself, this Gold Skull Clutch from Alexander McQueen's collection is something I would love to carry!

I like the dirty gold finish, allows it to look not-blingy yet the skull is! Although the eyes of the skull look scary in the picture, I hear it isn't as bad in real life. It comes in many other colours including Black & Red.

Description on the website: classic alexander mcqueen skull clutch in antique gold leather with black nappa leather lining. the skull has blue river pearl eyes and white swarovski teeth and studs. length: 16.5 cm, width: 11.5 cm, depth: 5.5 cm

Its $1195, buy here.

Digital Love: Wear it on your sleeve

Something I have personally used, unique printed vinyl skins for your devices. I had previously donned my old iPhone with a customised print. It covered the back of my phone screaming individuality, style and class. Gelaskins has some great prints from a variety of talented artists to choose from and also the option to customise your designs. It's not just for iPhone's or iPod's, they cover a range of devices including laptops. Click on the image above to find more.

I've been meaning to get another one for my iPhone. I hate it when I go some place and there are plenty of same looking iPhones around. Never been the one to blend in!

Not only does this add style to the über cool iPhone, it also provides protection from scratches. After a while cases just don't seem right. This is the best option for some protection with style! They have a buy 3 skins get 1 skin free offer.

P.S: I want the Miss Chatterbox skin! ;-)

Shine Shielders: Make way

Since summer's upon us here in Chennai, India; I had to do a post on sunnies, while I had a few others on my lust list I had to go with Ray Ban's Wayfarers II RB2143. Reason being, I had a dream a few weeks ago, where I was at a beach party having a great time wearing PINK wayfarers. Now I'm not in love with or averse to PINK but I certainly am in love with the wayfarers. They come in a variety of colours and prints, but this one appealed to me the most. Of course the coloured ones are favourites too! If I could I'd buy them up all.. ;-)

The classic Ray Ban must have, after the aviators of course!

Mind Material

If you have been very close to me emotionally, I'm sure you know how I feel about the book "EAT, PRAY, LOVE" by Elizabeth Gilbert and the eerie similarities of my life with the author's. If you haven't, then I must seriously recommend that you pick up that book first. It's absolutely a delight to read & really makes you wonder about how you live your life. I have never praised a book so much as this one, probably coz this one is very close to home. My copy is currently loaned to a friend, she has quoted this book herself & told me how much it has made a difference to her. So its a must read!

From this brilliant lady comes her next, titled "Commited: A sceptic makes peace with marriage".

Excerpt from her website: "At the end of her bestselling memoir Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert fell in love with Felipe, a Brazilian-born man of Australian citizenship who'd been living in Indonesia when they met. Resettling in America, the couple swore eternal fidelity to each other, but also swore to never, ever, under any circumstances get legally married. (Both were survivors of previous divorces. Enough said.) But providence intervened one day in the form of the United States government, which—after unexpectedly detaining Felipe at an American border crossing—gave the couple a choice: they could either get married, or Felipe would never be allowed to enter the country again. Having been effectively sentenced to wed, Gilbert tackled her fears of marriage by delving into this topic completely, trying with all her might to discover through historical research, interviews, and much personal reflection what this stubbornly enduring old institution actually is. Told with Gilbert's trademark wit, intelligence and compassion, Committed attempts to "turn on all the lights" when it comes to matrimony, frankly examining questions of compatibility, infatuation, fidelity, family tradition, social expectations, divorce risks and humbling responsibilities. Gilbert's memoir is ultimately a clear-eyed celebration of love with all the complexity and consequence that real love, in the real world, actually entails."

I'm waiting to go pick this up (hint: gift it to me!). Its Rs.395/- at Landmark online, MRP Rs.499.

Towering Toes: Fabulous Fendi

This is truly drool worthy!! Fendi's Python effect leather sandals truly makes me go GA-GA...I love the coral pink, nude leather juxtaposed with the Python leather...Coral pink is a lovely, soothing colour that I'm biased towards..The python leather only adds oomph to it..This one is very very very high on my envy meter!

Towering Toes

I've always been fascinated by the Mayan civilization, their love for geometry & colours makes me wish I was one of them. When I saw this pair of Christian Louboutin's called Ulona 140, I knew I just had to include it in my Lust List ❤

While this is a busy shoe, I love the shock value it can add to a look. Absolutely stunning!

Carry my world!

The classic quilted flap bag from Chanel is one that every girl above 16 must absolutely have in their collection! This blue version is from the latest Spring - Summer 2010 Pre collection. I have a replica in Black & have been waiting to get the real thing!

Believe me, the black Chanel will look gorgeous with almost any outfit. My replica sure does, but of course who want's Brad Pitt's Wax statue over the real thing??

This one is high on my envy meter!

Prime Time Sublime: Dior Drool

La Baby D De Dior is one of my most favourite picks from the La De D Dior Collection. This collection is described by Dior as "A woman who decides to wear a man's watch so that she is always thinking of him…". How romantic! It has the right balance of style, function & oomph! I love the single row of diamonds on the bezel & my personal choice is the mother of pearl dial. Specification from the Dior site : 23mm, quartz movement, steel case and bracelet, bezel set with diamonds, white mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds. It's 2200 Euros on the official site but I'm sure you can find it for less elsewhere! Check this baby out  here.

Lust Episode 3: Twice as Nice

Temperley London's Mini Agnelli Studded dress in turquoise is a sure head-turner piece. Just this dress teamed with a pair of stunning heels & your best strut would make one look like a star! Want to look like you are walking the red carpet, 'clutch' an exotic purse to go with. This stunner of a dress can be found here.

The red cotton-faille pencil dress by Lela Rose is my perfect pick for a dinner party. Add some dazzling earrings or a bracelet/cuff, you can look like the perfect Lady-in-Red and find someone equally dashing to dance away with! You can get this from here.

Both images taken from Net-a-porter.

Sweet Temptations

If like me you are a lazy person or just don't have the time / luxury to go in for that most-important manicure, yet want those fab-looking digits to flick around & beckon with, then you must have these!

Although I don't really know how this product works, the quality, and the lasting duration of the effect. However, if it comes close to being the way it's described, I'd love to have these around. There have been many a times in my life that I've had an important meeting/date set up at the last minute while I've been bumming around in my frumpiest best!

The mad dash to look presentable & realising on my way out the door that I forgot to make my nails look nice or even presentable! Yikes...Now we don't want that do we!

Go grab these...Available at the Incoco online store.

Lust Episode 2: Hail Queen

A dress by the recently departed but talented Alexander McQueen. R.I.P!

I would love to step into a room wearing this & watch the eyes roll...I would gasp if I was in the audience...The colour of this dress is to die for (Pun unintended!)...I love the simplicity of the design & yet the ferociousness of its colour...Making it a FABOOSH lust item on my list!

The dress can be found here. Image is once again taken from Net-a-porter. It costs £811.06 and only available in Large & X - Large at the moment of my writing.

Every time a talented artist moves onto another abode, their work becomes very sought after, hence the "sold out" on the other sizes. If you can lay your hands on one, I suggest you pick it up NOW!

Lust Episode 1: Hometown Glory

This dress started it all..It's a Just Cavalli print dress called Madras Pencil Dress..Madras being the former name of the city I live & grew up in..

I love the colours in this dress and think it'll be perfectly suited for the Indian dusky complexion. My favourite part of the dress is the bodice, especially the red peek-a-boo bit!

I got the image from Net-a-porter and this dress can be found here.

P.S: The post title is inspired by a song of the same name by Adele, watch here.

The spark!

So it's a saturday night after an emotionally heavy day, I'm bored & looking for a fun distraction. I have a bookmark folder called FASHION full of various websites selling some of the most amazing products. I'm a shopaholic, living in Chennai, India where the fashion isn't really suited for my sensibilities. Oh I'm no fashionista or expert, just a regular girl with her own eclectic taste in the materialistic joys of this world. Clothes & Bags never hurt anyone, can't say about them shoes! ;-)

Anyway, before I start meandering away from the topic, I started surfing one of the most famous fashion online stores and randomly tweeted about the dresses I liked most. I linked about 10 dresses, that's massive when on Twitter! I realised my followers might just not be into fashion like I am, so I decided why not start a blog and list it out here & then tweet the link to my blog! Pretty simple right?! Did I mention I'm kinda goofy?! :-p

I'm not going to promise you about what to expect or not, coz honestly I don't know myself. It'll be random, bizarre (maybe!) and anything I fancy as per my mood swings!

Welcome to my lust list! Let the drooling begin....
